Spatial Awareness
Spatial Awareness Description:
  • Players move around the zone finding space.
  • Coach calls "stop"
  • Players stop immediately and check their positions.
  • Players should not be too close to each other, indicating that they know how to use the spaces in the zone.

Increase Difficulty:
  • Players again move around the zone finding space.
  • Coach calls out a shape that players must form; for example, a diamond, a square, a straight line.
  • Coach tracks how quickly players are able to form a team shape and maintain equal distances between each other.
  • Add soccer balls and passing to increase difficulty.
